Yup! Done it at last!
Have finally taken the plunge and jumped into the “i” world. My new iPhone is so very cool!! But ….. oh dear ….. I bumped into a little problem along the way.
About 12 months ago, I set up a Gmail account. Having always used Outlook though, I found Gmail clunky and uncomfortable. So I figured out how to access my Gmail via Outlook. It was great! Off I went creating folders and having a nice, neat and tidy email account. All was chugging along really well until I started looking at Gmail on my iPhone. Eh!! Alarm bells!! I was shocked to discover that I had 2343 messages sitting on Gmail account with not a folder in sight. Realizing that I’d not synched my Gmail and Outlook, I’ve spent a ridiculous number of hours over the last few days whittling down the mass of email sitting in my Gmail account. Now that Gmail and Outlook are synched I will also be able to enjoy an organized view of all incoming mail on my iPhone! It’s been worth the investment of time to get myself organized. I feel fresh, new and invigorated again!!
Moving into the ‘smart’ phone world is a huge step for me and has of course put all other explorations on to the back burner. I’m really looking forward to exploring the ever growing world of Apps and iTunes and may even sneak in the reading of blogs and Twitter on my iPhone. Hmm… what else should I be doing folks?
Already I’ve found a couple of sites with some great tips to get me going on making the most of my new toy. 33 Tips to Make the Most of Your iPhone sounds quite promising! But this one – 25 Most Wanted Tips – is interspersed with lots of clear pics to help make sense of the explanation.
Ah …… how to squeeze more out of the day will be the really big challenge!
